A friendly Reminder

This is often a very difficult topic to discuss, because many Christians believe, and indeed have been told, to keep their faith out of the public/government arena, and that once they have been saved, they are citizens of God’s government (Heaven) and that is all that counts. There is another broader view that encompasses our Christian lives while we live on earth.

To evaluate the potential role of the Christian Church in the 2016 election, a national survey among spiritually active Christians who are politically conservative or moderate was conducted during July and August of 2015. The research was conducted by the American Culture & Faith Institute, a division of United in Purpose – Education, a non-partisan, not-for-profit organization located in northern California. The research was directed by George Barna.

Now regarding Romans 13:1-6, what people so often miss is the repeated phrase “minister of God.” Note that it is repeated three times in the passage. We know that when Scripture repeats a phrase it does so for emphasis, so three times means pay very close attention to this phrase.

As we gain knowledge and understanding of our nation’s Biblical founding, particularly as it relates to law and government, we simultaneously become aware of America’s catastrophic fall from those principles.  How should a Christian respond to this?  Is it “too late” to restore the foundations?  Is it possible for anyone to really impact positive change or is the system too far gone?

It is really important to “frame” your comments with respect to the Constitution (Federal or State) and other founding documents.  Don’t just give your “opinion.”
