Glenn has asked me to expand a bit on our discussion of America’s Progressives from Friday’s television show, which I’ll do in this and four subsequent pieces for the newsletter.  In today’s piece, I’ll explain who the Progressives were and why they were important.

The first four Voter Guide links below are for federal and State level elections.  Due to lack of funds (mainly donations) these organizations may not have information on every candidate or issue.  In addition, many candidates often ignore questionnaires sent to them by such groups.  You can draw your own conclusions from their lack of response.  That said, these are still very useful and worthy of encouraging your church to print and insert into their bulletins, or at least

The First Amendment was never intended to separate Christian principles from government.  Yet, today, we often hear “First Amendment” coupled with the phrase, “separation of church and state.”  Here is a summary and timetable of the history of this phrase, and how it has changed America,  from David Barton’s video, “Church, State and the Real First Amendment, Part-2”

Pray fervently for God’s will in America and for a spiritual awakening. Strengthen your faith and help others learn the truth of God’s Word, the Constitution, and our Biblical heritage. Take action by educating, engaging, and boldly standing for Godly principles in your family, church, and community.

If you have religious views within the Judaic or Christian tradition that founded America, big institutions are lining up to flatten your freedom to believe. This includes Big Government, Big Corporate, Big Media, Big Education, and Big Advocacy. Guided by a secular worldview, these powers have combined to declare war against your freedom to openly hold your religious beliefs, and they are not hesitant to inflict painful sanctions.

This is often a very difficult topic to discuss, because many Christians believe, and indeed have been told, to keep their faith out of the public/government arena, and that once they have been saved, they are citizens of God’s government (Heaven) and that is all that counts. There is another broader view that encompasses our Christian lives while we live on earth.

To evaluate the potential role of the Christian Church in the 2016 election, a national survey among spiritually active Christians who are politically conservative or moderate was conducted during July and August of 2015. The research was conducted by the American Culture & Faith Institute, a division of United in Purpose – Education, a non-partisan, not-for-profit organization located in northern California. The research was directed by George Barna.

The “Institute on the Constitution” (IOTC) teaches us that the majority of our Founders were Christian, most of them had a Biblical World View, and they founded America on Biblical principles.  The Declaration of Independence and Constitution were written with this Biblical World View in mind.  If all of this is true, then why didn’t our Founders abolish slavery from the very beginning? 

Explore the Founders’ understanding of “The Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God” and how it formed the foundation of America’s laws and government. Learn how unalienable rights—life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness—are God-given, and how civil government exists to protect these rights through the consent of the governed.
