During my four-year term on the Anne Arundel County Council I voted against the adoption of the proposed county budget in each of those years.  On each of these occasions the vote was 6 to 1 against me.  I was severely criticized by the leftist, local press and by public school advocates for my refusal to support their relentless demands for more funding.  In 2018, my final year on the Council, the public schools in my county devoured more than 2/3 of the $1.5 billion budget.
