Our Institute On The Constituion Host Bill Flynn in Triad region of North Carolina announced his candidacy for the United States Senate race this past Sunday. Bill hosts a morning radio show on WEGO (980 AM). Bill has not only taught our U.S. Constitution course he was my co-host on the Constitutional Cruise, All Aboard America this past March. Bill is a good friend and patriot.
At his announcement this past Sunday he spoke to a crowd at Triad Park.
“It’s our belief that there’s an awful lot of voices that aren’t being heard right now,” Flynn remarked. To which he added, “The biggest issue that’s facing our country is the lack of consistently constitutional government.”
I whole heartedly agree. Bill stated,
“When you see… the President acting outside the boundaries of his executive authority… these things have to be challenged, they have to be articulated.”
To that good start was added, “The government is getting involved in unnecessary things, such as health care. Our government is attacking us,” he said. “You can have government that protects your rights or is ambivalent to your rights, but the worst mode is when government is hostile to your rights, and I submit to you…that our government is hostile to our rights.”
The Winston-Salem Journal reported, “Rex Foster, of Lexington, attended the event Sunday and said Flynn will have his vote. ‘He knows the Constitution and knows the bounds of the government,’ he said. ‘He’s a solid, family-oriented, conservative Christian fellow; doesn’t want to hurt anybody but at the same time, he knows the limits of government.’”
I am blessed to see Bill taking then next step. In Lecture twelve of our United States Constitution Course we encourage all our graduates to take the next step. For many that will mean purchasing a host kit and starting their own class, and we are honored that thousands of graduates have done just that. And obviously every graduate will apply what they have learned in choosing candidates for every office that appears on the ballot. The inevitable question for graduates is, “What if when I look at the ballot, there is no one I can vote for who is truly constitutional? The answer is, “Well then you need to consider running yourself. At least there ought to be one constitutional candidate on the ballot for each office presented.”
It is a tough race Bill has entered for the Republican primary with four others already running.
Congratulations to Bill Flynn for stepping up to the plate. My prayers and support are with him, and I would ask you to pray for him as well. You can learn more about his campaign on his Facebook page.
