“The care of human life and happiness, and not their destruction, is the first and only object of good government.” – Thomas Jefferson

The federal government should abolish abortion for three reasons: babies in the womb are unborn humans, the U.S. Declaration of Independence and Constitution protects the life of all humans, and Roe vs. Wade is not law.

To begin, babies in the womb are unborn humans. Some would argue that babies in the womb are only fetuses. However, this is not true. Pre-born babies possess the seven characteristics that define life.According to the Department of Genetics at Mayo Clinic,  “By all the criteria of modern molecular biology, life is present from the moment of conception.”God states life begins at conception. Psalm 139:13-16 states, “For you formed my inward parts; you covered me in my mother’s womb… My frame was not hidden from you, when I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed, and in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them.”

Another reason for the abolition of abortion is our own U.S. Declaration of Independence and United States Constitution protects the life of all people, including babies in the womb. Some would argue that doesn’t talk about the issue of life for the unborn, but one only needs to read it to know it does. The Declaration states, “We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal and endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness to secure these rights governments are instituted among men deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.” The Declaration does not state that we are bornequal, but rather that we are created equal. The Fifth Amendment to the Constitution says that no one can be deprived of life without due process of law. A baby in the womb has not broken any laws, therefore making it illegal to kill them. They have not been given due process of law.

Lastly, Roe vs. Wade’s so-called law is actually not even a law because this law didn’t go through Congress. Some argue that when the Supreme Court gives a ruling, it becomes the law of the land. This is simply not true. Article 1, Section 1, states that Congress votes to make laws, not the Supreme Court. Additionally, American government was founded on biblical laws. Therefore any law the government passes that violates the law of God is illegal and invalid. The Bible and American Law says murder is illegal and is punishable by imprisonment or death.

The federal government should abolish abortion because, babies in the womb are unborn humans, the U.S. Declaration of Independence and Constitution protects the life of all humans, and Roe vs. Wade is not law.

This matters to the our children and the future of America, because the huge number that is 44.5 million babies that have been killed in the womb will rise to unthinkable numbers.
