A natural born American citizen, by the grace and law of God, Dr. Herb Titus is of counsel to the McLean, Virginia law firm of William J. Olson, P.C. His law practice concentrates on promoting limited civil government and protecting individual and family liberties. Representative clients of the firm are the Michael New Action Fund, the Christian Liberty Society, Gun Owners Foundation, and DownsizeDC. Author of the widely used text, God, Man & Law: The Biblical Principles, Dr. Titus has taught Constitutional law for 30 years.
Dr. Titus was converted to Christ in 1975 at a church picked out of a newspaper and delivered from his 1960’s radical liberalism. After his conversion, Herb studied under Frances Schaeffer in Switzerland. A graduate (cum laude) of Harvard Law School, Dr. Titus was the founding dean of the School of Public Policy at Regent University and, later, the founding dean of Regent Law School. He has worked with the U.S. Justice Department, and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court. Today he is engaged in a general practice with a concentration in constitutional strategy, litigation, and appeals. He and his wife, Marilyn, have four children and 15 grandchildren. They live in Chesapeake, Virginia on 15 acres where they raise geese and turkeys.
We are grateful to know Herb and to consider him a valued friend. He is the Attorney of Record for the amicus briefs in which Institute on the Constitution participates along with other parties and organizations. Herb most recently spoke at our May 2012 First Friday event, describing some of the cases before the Supreme Court and lower courts, and the amicus briefs filed to defend the Constitution in those cases. The DVD of his talk, “IOTC Defending the Constitution before the Courts” is available in our store.
