107: Re-Run Of Our Newt Gingrich Interview

It’s being re-run because I think he’ll run for the GOP President nomination. And I think he’ll run talking a lot of God-talk the purpose of which is obvious: to fool the Republican Party’s Christian base which is, alas, easy to do (though I do not think real Christians are easily fooled.). In fact Gingrich has a new book out about our Christian heritage and he spoke recently at Regent University deploring those who are trying to push “religion” out of the public square (I’m paraphrasing here.)  But, remember, please: The enemies of our enemies are not necessarily our friends.

A lot of folks have made tons of money (the wretched Bill O’Reilly, for example) by attacking extreme atheists (a redundant phrase, I know) while they are themselves as secular as the unbelievers they attack. On his Fox program, more than once, when Christians came on and quoted the Bible, O’Reilly attacked them, reminding them that we live in a “secular society.” Put his name in our search engine and read these stories, please.

So, listen carefully to Gingrich here and notice how he talks some of the God-talk but sees me as an extremist when it comes to actually applying God’s Word to civil government. – J.L.
