For the very first time in national history, a Human Life Amendment is on a ballot and will be voted upon. Praise be to God! Proposal 48 gives Colorado voters the opportunity to define in the State Constitution a “person” as a human being at the moment of fertilization. What does this mean that a “personhood amendment” is on a ballot?
- It can pass and every innocent child will be protected by law in Colorado. The dehumanizing and destruction of children will end!
- Pro-Life activists and churches in Colorado have been more mobilized and active than at any other time in history. The state record for the number of volunteer petitioners for ballot-access was broken.
- Pro-Life activists around the nation are inspired and mobilizing to protect every preborn child, instead of being content with a “Choose Life” license plate or “partial-birth-abortion-ban.” (Come on Montana, Georgia, Oregon, Michigan, and other states wanting personhood amendments that haven’t been successful yet!)
- The helpless and hopeless feelings pro-life people have had over compromising politicians and “abortion” are being replaced with effective actions to stop the slaughter.
- The false hope in federal judges to stop “abortion” is being replaced with people taking direct action.
- The pro-life groups and individuals that simply want to attempt to regulate the murdering of babies in hopes that we’ll get a more pro-life supreme court and end “abortion” in a few decades, are being proved to be wrong.
- The personhood of preborn children is shaping the elections in Colorado.
- Hundreds of thousands of apathetic people in Colorado are now having to think about the humanity of small children.
- The apathy and acceptance of abortion in too many churches is being challenged and replaced with action. (Praise God for the increased volunteers at pregnancy-help-centers around Colorado this year and the new pregnancy-help-center in the town of Rifle!) Rocky Mountain Planned Parenthood is very frightened and telling their donors so.
- Pro-life groups and ministries are cooperating more and more.
- More churches (and individuals?) are focusing on praying to end the murdering of babies.
- More new groups (i.e. American Right to Life) are starting up with the vision to restore “personhood” to all children.
- Established pro-life groups ( i.e. American Life League) that have pushed for “personhood” for decades are celebrating and growing.
- Political parties and candidates that simply talk pro-life will be replaced with those who will act pro-life.
- In some political races, candidates are attempting to see who can be the most supportive of “personhood” to get more support from pro-life voters.
- The silence that enables the culture of death is being shaken and the dehumanizing aspects of abortifacient drugs and in-vitro fertilization are being confronted.
- The discussion is getting louder about expecting federal congressmen to impeach bad federal judges.
- More pro-life donors are focusing on “personhood” instead of funding efforts to support bills that permit babies to get murdered.
- Future generations of Americans will read about “abortion” in history books instead of the Yellow Pages. God will bless Truth and the faith that believes and applies His Truth.
- Lastly, this means that we didn’t listen to the naysayers that said that it couldn’t be done.
No, we don’t know if the first “personhood amendment” will pass or not, but we plan to trust the Lord for strength and provision as we campaign for it.
