Institute For Principled Policy Sues Clermont County (OH) Public Library Board
The Institute For Principled Policy along with George and Cathy Vandergriff, has filed suit in federal court against the Clermont County (OH) Public Library Board for denying a class sponsored by the Policy Institute which teaches biblically-based financial management.
The Vandergriffs were denied use of a public meeting room when it was made clear that there would be a Bible and that it would be read from. The library claims this violates its policy against allowing the room to be used for "religious, political or social uses." In other words, it is just nebulous enough to permit the library director to deny use to anyone he sees fit. For instance, it was pointed out that the director allowed the room to be used by a pro-tax increase group to disseminate pro-tax propaganda. This was deemed a "non-political" meeting for the library's purposes. You can see details of the suit here.
