NAFTA Superhighway
Imagine a United States without borders. From what I've been hearing lately, that is exactly the aim of the Bush administration as they push for a new North American SuperCorridor that would connect Mexico to Canada. This highway has secretive roots in the Bush administration's transportation bill, and will begin construction next year. What this would mean is more erosion of American economic soverignty, a more expansive wave of illegal migration, and a dramatic change in our society as we know it.

Re: NAFTA Superhighway
Ahh, come on guys! Senator Jeff Sessions aide that answers the phone says he and his staff have investigated this and it isn't true and you know how rumors are and it is just emails flying across the internet.
She continued that it doesn't involve Congress nor is it a treaty. Hmmm. Doesn't that contradict everything she said? Senator Richard Shelby's little phone aide said he is looking into it and has made no statement. Yeah? Well, Richard, baby, plays the game! He thinks we need to be in the UN and have a 'say so' and vote! Call your two senators on a regular basis and your congressman and don't let up! Give them info every time you call --they will either 'get informed' or know you know!

Re: NAFTA Superhighway
Nice straw man attack against my level of discernment. To me, it looks a little more than just emails flying across the internet, and the evidence including the Bush Administration's transportation budget for 2007 seems to have been compelling enough to raise a few eyebrows (and I don't care about what Sessions's aide said). The infrastructure for the corridor already exists (railroads and major highways) and a substantial amount of trade already flows through the border from Loredo. NASCO is committed "to develop the world’s first international, integrated and secure, multi-modal transportation system along the International Mid-Continent Trade and Transportation Corridor to improve both the trade competitiveness and quality of life in North America". This was taken from their web site, and shows they are determined to excellerate the squandering of America's wealth and soverignty.

Re: NAFTA Superhighway
The Senators remarks that its not in a treaty by congress is foolishness. Hasn't this puppet ever heard of executive orders ? These are nothing but unconstitutional fiats that Americans are allowing to happen. Deo Vindice.

Re: NAFTA Superhighway
Constitution Party of New York
PO Box 8537 Albany, NY 12208 Contact: Paul Henderson Phone: 877 571-5479 E-mail: vchaircpny@yahoo. com 9/19/06 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CONSTITUTION PARTY OF NEW YORK WARNS AGAINST NAFTA HIGHWAY CRASHES The Constitution Party of New York calls on the legislature to pass a joint resolution opposing giant NAFTA superhighways linking the west coast of Mexico, the United States and Canada, "which severely threaten the safety of New York's already overburdened roads. The International Brotherhood of Teamsters in its August, 2006 national magazine warns that the new highway corridors will mean U. S. truckers replaced by Mexicans, more unsafe rigs on American roads and more drivers relying on drugs for their long hauls. The corridors will eliminate truck stops at the Mexican border, replacing them with just electronic checks. First stop for customs inspection will be in Kansas City. A major south-north corridor into Canada will be Interstate 81. President Bush has not informed Congress of details of the NAFTA superhighway project since he signed a formal agreement for a Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP) with President Vicente Fox of Mexico and then Canadian Premier Paul Martin March 23, 2005 in Waco, Texas. This makes a mockery of any Washington claims to defend our borders against the burgeoning invasion of illegals from Latin America. Specific danger to New York motorists comes from the fact that Mexican truck brakes and tires are not adequately maintained, and Mexican drivers are compelled by their employers to drive 4,500 kilometers alone over the course of five or six nights without sleep, requiring them to resort to cocaine and crystal meth to stay awake. Thus the Teamster magazine's thorough study shows that all Mexican drivers are addicted, and form an army of likely accident causers. A further disaster, is that under the SPP plan, all interstates in the U. S. will become toll roads. In Texas, a Spanish-based Cinta-Zachry consortium has been given a contract by the state to operate part of a statewide 4,000-mile network of transportation corridors. In return for a 1.2 billion payment to the state, Cinta-Zachry will have the right to charge tolls for fifty years. New York Republicans in the House and Senate deliberately stabbed taxpayers in the back when they voted for a SAFETEA-LU transportation bill signed by Bush July 29, 2005. This in part provides for tolls on existing interstates for repairs, despite the fact that motorists now pay 18.4 cents U. S. tax on every gallon of gas for maintenance of federal highways, which have already been paid for in full. (END OF RELEASE) ============ ========= ========= ========= ========= ========= = Proposed Resolution for New York State Legislature WHEREAS, the safety of New York highways is a prime responsibility of the New York State Legislature, which cannot be delegated to any other body; and WHEREAS, a NAFTA Superhighway system from the west coast of Mexico through the United States and into Canada is now being implemented by the Bush administration, including multiple connections with New York's already heavily traveled roads, all without any action by the United States Congress; and WHEREAS, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters has warned, in its August, 2006 national magazine, that the NAFTA Superhighway will mean U. S. trucks replaced by Mexicans, more unsafe rigs on American roads and more drivers relying on drugs for their long hauls; and WHEREAS, maintenance of Mexican truck brakes and tires falls far below United States standards; and WHEREAS, Mexican drivers are compelled by companies that employ them to drive an excessive 25 days a month, and to drive 4,500 kilometers alone over the course of five or six nighta without sleep, requiring them to resort to cocaine and crystal methamphetamine to stay awake; and WHEREAS, the national Teamster magazine, in interviewing a sample of Mexican drivers, found no one who had not killed other persons in highway accidents; and WHEREAS, the NAFTA Superhighway system will therefore bring on U. S. soil a new army of drivers who are particularly likely to cause accidents on our roads; and WHEREAS, with generally acknowledged corruption of business in Mexico, it will be particularly difficult, if not impossible, for New Yorkers as well as other Americans to collect insurance from Mexican companies which employ Mexican drivers causing accidents here, and insurance rates for Virginians and others are therefore likely to undergo a sharp increase; and WHEREAS, an initial portion of the NAFTA Superhighway system already under way in Texas involves a pattern contract with that state by a Spanish-U. S. Cinta-Zachry consortium which, in return for a single lump payment to the state by Cinta, grants that foreign company the right to levy tolls for years which cannot be regulated by the state, and will greatly increase the cost of driving for all motorists; and WHEREAS, neither taxpayers nor U. S. banks are willing to provide the multiple billions required to construct the extremely large NAFTA Superhighway system, and the needed funds are expected to be provided only by foreign consortiums, the result will be that the arterial U. S. highway system will be under foreign management and financial control; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED by the Assembly, the Senate concurring, That the New York State Legislature declares its formal opposition to allowing interstates in New York to become part of the NAFTA Superhighway system; and, be it RESOLVED FURTHER by the Assembly, the Senate concurring, That the Congress of the United States be urged to take such constitutional action as may be necessary to prevent the Executive Branch of the United States from implementing unilaterally the NAFTA Superhighway system; and, be it RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Assembly transmit copies of this resolution to the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, the President of the United States Senate, and the members of the New York Congressional Delegation so that they may be apprised of the sense of the people of New York in this matter.
