Thanks But No Thanks To Bush For Throwing $2.2 BILLION Down Planned Parenthood Rathole!
So, President Bush throws $2.2 BILLION down the Planned Parenthood rathole and I'm supposed to thank him for not wasting the Federal tax dollars of pro-life taxpayers? Well, yes, that's what the folks at "Focus On The Family" want me and others to do.

Get with it
Unless and until it is understood contraception is the older sister (excuse the familial pun) to abortion the compromises will continue. You cannot separate the two. It is a state of mind; or shall I say a state of soul?

A dedicated, hardcore, never-say-die reader of this site kept after it until he got an answer from "Focus On The Family" to an obvious question about Bush having given $2.2 BILLION to Planned Parenthood: But isn't this funding wasting the Federal tax dollars of prolifers? The reply from one Ken Wolfe is as follows, in its entirety:
"Greetings from Focus on the Family and thank you for your e-mail to our ministry headquarters. I consider it a privilege to reply on behalf of our staff. "We appreciate the time you have taken to share your thoughts. In response, federal funding of domestic abortions is prohibited by the Hyde Amendment. As such, although Planned Parenthood is funded through Title X each year, President Bush signs this appropriations bill with full knowledge that the Hyde legislation is in place to prevent the monies from being used for abortions. Although we have not agreed with all of the President’s decisions, we are grateful that he has been for the most part supportive of the issues of concern to the pro-family movement. He has championed many fundamentally moral issues, signing into law the ban on partial-birth abortion, opposing the expansion of embryonic stem-cell research, and has stated time and again that life begins at conception. "Thanks, again, for taking the time to express your views. We hope these few thoughts have helped to clarify our position. May the Lord bless you richly in the coming days." OK, let us deconstruct, please. Notice, first, that Mr. Wolfe, in no way, even comes close to answering the question that was asked – not an auspicious beginning. Then….OK let’s go line-by-line… WOLFE: “In response, federal funding of domestic abortions is prohibited by the Hyde Amendment. As such, although Planned Parenthood is funded through Title X each year, President Bush signs this appropriations bill with full knowledge that the Hyde legislation is in place to prevent the monies from being used for abortions.” COMMENT: Every “Federal tax dollar” given PP allows these murderers to use one of their private dollars to continue murder-by-abortion. But, why give PP any $$$$$$$$$$$$$$?!! Virtually everything PP does is evil. The issue here is not just funding abortion. WOLFE: “Although we have not agreed with all of the President’s decisions, we are grateful that he has been for the most part supportive of the issues of concern to the pro-family movement.” COMMENT: Right – “for the most part.” But, has not Federal funding of PP been “an issue of concern for the pro-family movement?” Of course. And we’re not talking here about couch-pillow-change. We’re talking $2.2 BILLION (as of 2006)! And I reject the OK-so-he-did-really-evil-things-but-he-also-did-some-good-things reasoning. This kind of talk is nothing more than an attempt to muddy the water, to change the subject, to distract. WOLFE: “He has championed many fundamentally moral issues, signing into law the ban on partial-birth abortion, opposing the expansion of embryonic stem-cell research." COMMENT: This is really slimy. It is said that one of the good things Bush has done is “opposing the expansion of embryonic stem-cell research.” Not mentioned is the fact that Bush was the first President to advocate Federal funding of embryonic stem cell research – but under his proposal only a limited number of human beings in their earliest stage of development could be murdered by these Nazisesque “medical experiments.” WOLFE: "and [Bush] has stated time and again that life begins at conception.” COMMENT: But, if Bush believes this why is he for abortion exceptions? Why does he think a woman should be allowed to murder her unborn baby if that baby is in her womb because of rape or incest? Do the innocent human lives of rape/incest babies not also begin at conception? WOLFE: “Thanks, again, for taking the time to express your views. We hope these few thoughts have helped to clarify our position. May the Lord bless you richly in the coming days.” COMMENT: Your “few thoughts” have helped “clarify” nothing. They have been double-minded, deceptive, incomplete, unresponsive. And while the Lord may indeed bless me in the coming days (when I obey Him), your replies here have not. |
