ARGHHS Levels 1- 10 -- If the subject wasn’t so serious, I would say it is comical to see some of the Orwellian, verbal gymnastics engaged in by folks who seek to evade to fact that homosexuality is a sin which God calls an abomination. “New York Times” columnist Maureen Dowd has attacked (11/7/04) evangelical Christians because they object to social engineering on behalf of society’s most vulnerable, including “the sexually different.” That’s it? Homosexuals are simply “sexually different?” Such mushy weasel-words could, of course, also apply to rapists, pedophiles, people who practice bestiality, and a whole host of other sex perverts. And to think this column ran in a paper whose motto is “All The News That’s Fit To Print.”

This article hints that the war in Iraq is one with which we should not be involved. I know what a constituional war is but I have been trying to figure out exactly what a Biblical war would be - a concept mentioned by Mr. Peroutka in some of his presidential campaign literature. Can anyone lead me in the right direction? Thank you.

There are other resources as well.

To briefly give my view, war (like government) is an evil that is sometimes necessary to correct other, greater evils. Only when the external evil is severe and can be corrected without a greater evil being caused by the correction (e.g. chemotherapy for cancer, not for colds) should it be used.

TAV should do a few broadcasts on the Iraq war - and maybe a visit to Cindy Sheehan is in order lest everyone think it is just democrats that oppose the war.

Her question stands - what was the noble cause that took the life of her son?

It might be perfectly valid to admit a mistake only visible in retrospect, but the reason for the war (and occupation) seem to change every few months as the old excuses are shown to be invalid.

On my blog I noted under the Just War theory, we ought to have a violent war on abortion based on the various points (it is a grave evil, we can succeed, etc.). If we a priori say a war on (the culture of) death would be unjust, it is hard to say a war on some tinhorn dictator on the other side of the world is justified.

I recommend you pick up a copy of "When ss it Right to Fight?" by Dr. Robert Morey on Amazon. In it, Dr. Morey meticulously lays out the biblical and historical-Christian case for a Just War, and totally annihilates the false doctrine of pacificism. In my opinion, Dr. Morey makes an irrefutable case.
