During the Harriet Miers nomination fiasco it was said repeatedly by some of her supporters that Miers, if confirmed to be a Supreme Court justice, was most likely a vote against abortion, against Roe v. Wade, because she is "pro-life." And, we were told by various Republican Party cheerleaders, that a key piece of evidence that she is "pro-life" is the fact that she attended a "pro-life" church, the Valley View Christian Church (VVCC) in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Barry McCarty is the present pastor of VVCC where Miers is still a member. Ron Key is the former pastor of VVCC. I spoke recently to both pastors about Miers. Here is what I was told.
