View Full Version : Why Didn't Dr. Dobson Tell Karl Rove No Support For Miers Or ANY Judicial Nominees Unless They Oppose ALL Abortions, Overturn Of Roe v. Wade?

We did not discuss Roe v. Wade in any context or any other pending issue that will be considered by the Court. I did not ask that question. You know, to be honest, I would have loved to have known how Harriet Miers views Roe v. Wade

Remember President Bush's latest montra: "Judgin' is different than politics."
Give me a break. This is the entire problem. We must incorporate our whole selves into our professional work. We cannot divorce ourself from ourself, otherwise we would have a serious mental illness. I believe the Bible called it Hypocrisy.
No one has to apologize for being Pro-Life. The United States Constitution totally supports being Pro-Life on its own words. It is those who are pro-abortion and want to deny an innoncent life the right to live, that must prove their case.
I firmly believe Roe v. Wade is nothing but a court opinion, it is not law. It doesn't deserve stare decisis because it's based on bad law and should be done away with by a True American.

Dr. James Dobson was a trusted friend in my early years of life. My memories of him are very vivid in my mind of his radio broadcasts while in the car or at home.
But when I was a child I thought as a child.
Now I am grown and have two children of my own with one on the way. I truly feel that Dr. Dobson has left the camp of Israel and is commingling with the other nations surrounding the people of God. What's even worse is he reports back to the nation of Zion that we should trust the other influences in America.
Should we trust a president who has continued financial support of Planned Parenthood and has nominated homosexuals to cabinet level positions and supported the removal of America’s number one Chief Justice, Roy Moore, who stood for God? NO!!
Dr. James Dobson has given much advice on raising children. Well here is one of those children, many thanks to Dr. Dobson’s work, who has grown up in the fear and admonition of the Lord. Yet now I do herby separate myself and encourage others to separate from his teachings.

The most powerful weapon of the enemy (and we do no wrestle with flesh and blood) is deception.
For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if [it were] possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Mt. 24:24
Another Christian leader fooled by the Republicans is Dr. D. James Kennedy. I love Dr. Kennedy, but he also supported the nominations of Roberts and Miers.
It is very strange to see otherwise discerning men be so undiscerning where Bush and the GOP are concerned. It is certainly not difficult for anyone with both eyes open to notice that Bush's actions never match his conservative talk. That Dobson and Kennedy do not notice (or don't seem to see a troubling pattern) is strange. This is misplaced loyalty at best, and at worse, it is simply poor leadership. These leaders keep trusting Bush's flapping lips instead of keeping an eye on his feet to confirm that Bush walks like he talks.
Whom will God raise up to be salt and light for the sheep and the nation? I don't know, but I can only pray that He will raise someone up.

There is an unhealthy blur between the Republican Party and Southern Evangelicalism. It's hard to know where one stops and the other starts.

That's because just like there's a thin line between Saturday Night and Sunday Morning, there's also a thin line between ambitious political hacks and slick preachers on the political make. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Hey listen, not all preachers who happen to be in the media spotlight are "slick" or on the political make. Some are, not all. I really believe that Dobson, Robertson and other Christians so tied to the Republican Party are tied for more innocent reasons.
A simple analogy would be a man or woman having been married for a number of years and refusing to believe their spouse has been unfaithful. The amount of evidence presented matters little. It is an emotional bond and they are unable to see the truth of the matter.
Fortunately, I do not believe God will let them continue in their ignorance indefinitely. The reality checks are starting to come -- the 2008 election will be very interesting.
Interestingly enough, the visceral reaction was almost immediate by most christians and conservatives when Harriet Miers was nominated. I think the natural rebellion that diehard Republicans felt so deeply, ended up troubling them. They didn't like the "instability" of it all -- and were ready to settle down by the time Alito was nominated. Too bad, it was kind of refreshing.
God is Faithful, and He is in control.

I would like to chime in and agree with Brenda on this point. That is, I think her analogy to a long marriage and the difficulty in facing the hard truth of unfaithfulness is a pretty good description of what might be going on with Dr. Dobson and perhaps others.
I have long listened to Dr. Dobson and have actually met with him. I respect him immensely and consider him a brother. When he nails a point home or has a helpful insight, which happens quite often, I applaud him. I think his organization is top drawer. I just think he can't bring himself to face what to some of us is quite obvious: that he and we have been betrayed.
My sympathy with Dr. Dobson in this point however, must be tempered with my obligation to tell the truth about the betrayal even at the risk of incurring his wrath and the wrath of those who would defend his cheerleading for the Bush administration and what I believe is his misplaced loyalty to the institution of the Republican Party.

Those members of the “bride of Christ” just need to end that illicit and abusive affair with the GOP.
Falwell, Dobson, Sekulow, and Robertson pushed Bush in spite of his well documented paper trail: “Why Christians Should Not Vote for George W. Bush” http://www.peroutka2004.com/schedule/index.php?action=itemview&event_id=100 &
“The Bush Record” http://www.chuckbaldwinlive.com/bushrecord.html .

Thank you, Mr. Peroutka, for the moral support and your well-cultivated virtue for telling the truth, as foreign as it may seem to modern day society. I look forward to God doing the heavy lifting as He continues to use you to wield his two-edged sword! Our prayers are with you.
Peace, Brenda
