Forum Rules

TheAmericanView.com is a political commentary website from a decidedly Christian perspective, that is to say, Reformed, perspective. We offer this Forum to all who are interested in such commentary or engaging in discussion about our views. All are welcome to participate, but there are a few rules.

Obey the Third Commandment. Refrain from all blasphemy or profanity. No vain or filthy chatter and, more importantly, no taking of the Lord’s Name in vain will be tolerated.

Obey the Eighth Commandment. Plagiarism is forbidden. Footnote, cross-reference or hyperlink as you desire, but do not offer someone else's work as your own.

Obey the Ninth Commandment. Libel of forum members or others will not be tolerated.

Exercise Christian Temperance. Forums can combine the worst aspects of speaking and writing in that they provide you the ability to make a rash comment and combine it with the permanence of putting it in writing.

Exercise Christian Charity. Refrain from ad hominem attacks and name calling.

No Blogging. We at TheAmericanView.com created our own website so we could air our views and encourage you to do the same – on your website. The forum is available for use to discuss our articles or opinions, or reasonably related views and discussions as you determine.

Failure to obey any of the above rules can result in your suspension or expulsion from the Forum, and/or an editing or removing your posts.

This forum was set up to discuss the American View. We claim there is one, and it is rooted in Orthodox Christianity. All who so agree are welcome to consider this forum their own, and even to have differing conclusions on certain matters. But for those who disagree, or contest that we are the American View, you are welcome to participate, but this forum will never be yours, and you are apt to not feel too welcome either.
