On Aug. 12, New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson declared a state of emergency "due to a chaotic situation involving illegal alien smuggling and illegal drug shipments" on his southern border. Three days later, Gov. Janet Napolitano followed suit in Arizona.
Those Southwestern states are being inundated by illegal aliens trashing ranches, killing cattle, committing crimes and eating up tax dollars. The traffic in narcotics and human beings from Mexico is a national scandal and a human-rights disgrace.
What is true of New Mexico and Arizona is true of our nation, which is now home to an estimated 10 million to 15 million aliens who have broken our laws and broken into our country. It is a mark of the cowardice of our leaders that they are so terrified of being called "bigots" they tolerate this criminality. The moral rot of political correctness runs deep today in both national parties.

Did you notice that Pat Buchanan called for Bush's impeachment for this crisis? I agree with him on this. What is happening is a travesty of monumental proportions. While Bush fiddles, Rome burns.
vicente W. Bush (and let's not forget the other perfidious do-nothings - Congress!) isn't just fiddling, he has actually made the crisis worse with his amnesty proposal, following which illegal immigration spiked! Then he had the unmitigated gall to call the Minutemen "vigilantes".

There are a significant number of ‘conservatives’ who are extremely angry over the deluge of illegals. Many continue to have misplaced hopes that the Republicans will eventually enforce the laws against such.
The same could be said about abortion, rampant government spending, and several other hot-button issues, but the addiction to voting Republican can’t be broken in the great majority. They are bound by their great faith in the Republican Party and great fear of the Demoncrats, to promote and vote Republican.
Some would think the Christians among them would favorably respond to;“Duty is ours, results are God's,” but that isn’t the case. So, they vote for folk like Bush, and shortly thereafter are found groaning like Buchanan who endorsed Bush for a second term. (Proverbs 29:2, "When the righteous rule, the people rejoice; when the wicked rule, the people groan.")

”For nearly two years, Buchanan has been the most vocal conservative critic of the Bush administration.
Buchanan’s endorsement of Mr. Bush Monday(November 8, 2004 issue) in The American Conservative, a magazine he founded, marks conservatives’ effort to rally for Republicans in the final 15 days of the presidential election.”
Maybe a 12 STEP program for Christians conservatives who are addicted to Republicans would work:
We admitted we were powerless over Republicans — that our Nation is slowly forgetting God.
Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore our Nation.
Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him.
Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of The Republican Party. (“They know little or no restraint, either by Constitutional law or by God's Law. They are lawless. They are neither moral nor immoral. They are amoral. They are a law unto themselves. They do what is right in their own eyes. They do not fear God. They are only restrained by their fear of the people. Therefore, they neutralize the people by only allowing them a choice between two evils.”)
Admitted to God, to ourselves and to another human being the exact nature of their wrongs.
Were entirely ready to obey God: "Moreover thou shalt select out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them to be rulers ..." (Exodus 18:21) "Choose wise, understanding, and knowledgeable men ..." (Deuteronomy 1:13).
Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings.
Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all.
Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.
Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong ( voting for the lesser evil) promptly admitted it.
Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God, as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out to election day.
Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to Republicanholics, and to practice these principles in all our affairs.
