We homeschool - and yes, even in the People's Republic of Maryland, we are pretty much unmolested for it. Not that they don't try - you just have to know the law.

I was home schooled from 6th grade through 12th. I definitely respect you for taking up the challenge, Triton.

We still homeschool 6 kids, the oldest just got accepted into CalPoly's school of architecture, rated best in the country. We were in it from the beginning, and helped get it legalized in South Africa while we were staying there.

We do - have been for 12 days :)

Actually that's not quite accurate - we did phonics and math with our oldest, who will be 5 in November, for the past academic year as well. She really got into it when we were teaching her numbers and letters, so last year we just threw in the towel and did 'home school lite', though she was only 3 at the start. This year we have started in earnest. Our other two girls are, at 2.5 years and 3 months, a little too young as yet :)

Iowa's pretty easy as far as home schooling goes - although the overgrown tentacles of state government are growing further still...

Yeah, I've been Homeschooled since the beginning and I just finished my HS senior year. My brother & 2 sisters have also been Homeschooled from the first. (I'm the oldest.)

I would like to encourage those of you who homeschool your kids. You are raising up the next generation and it is a big responsibility, if you ever feel discouraged with this task just remember, others have done it before and you can too, and we're here to help and stand by you in times of need.

We teach our four at home in Mississippi. The government can't have them!
