CHATTANOOGA SELECTED FOR 2006 LEAGUE OF THE SOUTH NATIONAL CONFERENCE, 13-14 OCTOBER

President Michael Hill announced the selection of Chattanooga as the site of the next National Conference of the League of the South at the recent quarterly meeting of the League’s Board of Directors in Rome, Georgia.

On Friday October 13, the League of the South will convene its two-day National Conference at the Chattanooga Convention Center adjacent to the Marriott Hotel in downtown Chattanooga.

This marks the 13th Annual Conference of the League, but only the second time it has been brought to Tennessee. It has convened in Birmingham and Montgomery, Nashville, Biloxi, Charleston, Pensacola, Jackson, Abbeville (SC) and last year at Jekyll Island, Georgia.

The League of the South is the premier southern nationalist organization. It is actively seeking the cultural, social, economic and political well-being and independence of the Southern people by every honourable means. Based in Killen, Alabama, it has chapters throughout the Southern states and members as far north as Canada and west as California. The League’s members have been involved in lobbying state legislatures about issues as varied as historical preservation to economic opportunities for independent farmers. Its appeal to liberty-conscious citizens is increasing as Washington, DC extends its oppression against our civil liberties and refuses to defend our borders against invasion.

The theme of this year's conference is "Community v. Empire: Reclaiming What Is Ours."

Scheduled speakers and workshop leaders thus far are: Michael Peroutka, Ray McBerry, John Chodes, Mike Scruggs, Michael Hill, Mike Whorton, Robert Mills, Franklin Sanders, Justin Sanders, Larry Salley, and Steve Kimball.

Workshop topics are: Immigration (Mike Scruggs); Chaper Development and Member Retention (Mike Whorton); Recruitment (Robert Mills); Fundraising (Franklin Sanders); Street-level Action (Larry Salley and Steve Kimball); and Fighting the NAIS (Justin Sanders).

Admission fees for the conference are as follows:

Individuals $50
Couples $75
Families $100

Vendor tables are $25 per table per day. First come, first served.
