Most believers I encounter (nearly all I should say) are appalled when they discover that I do not support the war in Iraq. Can you please recommend the one article posted here (or elsewhere) over the years that you believe concisely summarizes a Christian’s view of Iraq (or the War on Terror in general). The friends and family members which I have in mind to share this with are all pre-loaded with standard Rush and Pawn Vanity answers, therefore, a concise Biblical and Constitutional refutation of those augments is what I seek.
Many thanks,

Hi West,
I can't lead you to an article but to a series of lectures delivered by Greg Bahnsen some years ago concerning the First war in 91. It is still applied perfectly to this current war. You can listen to his radio interview for free. Just search Bahnsen on war, or go to www.unchainedradio.com and in the free download section you will find Bahsen's interview. He is absolutely brilliant!

I, too, am unaware of a TAV article on this topic; however, the war is wrong for at least four reasons:

1.) It violates Just-War Doctrine, which is essentially scriptural;

2.) It violates the Weinberger Doctrine of 1984, which was issued to avoid the mistakes of Vietnam in the Middle East after the Marine barracks were bombed in Lebanon;

3.) It is being fought absent a declaration of war by Congress as required in Article I, section 8 (11); and

4.) It has clearly displayed the consequences of covenant-breaking (oath violations by the perps).

See "Fiasco," the current best seller by Tom Ricks, sub-titled, "The American Military Adventure in Iraq" (Penguin, 2006). Ricks may be the most highly-regarded military affairs correspondent of the era.
For example, his detailed chronology is strongly endorsed by retired Marine General Anthony Zinni, wounded Vietnam hero and commander of CenCom throughout most of the 1990s.

As a retired senior AF officer, I suggest that Ricks' objective account of the current quagmire and how we got there is the most illuminating and troubling by far of the several I have read.

Another similar resource is an article in the May/June issue of "Foreign Policy" by retired Army Lt. General Bill Odom, former director of the National Security Agency. The article is titled, "Cut and Run? You Bet."

www.foreignpolicy.com/story/cms.php?story_id=3430.

Also, check www.lewrockwell.com archives, e.g., Laurence Vance, Gary North, Paul Craig Roberts, Karen Kwiatkowski (Lt. Col. USAF ret) and the late David Hackworth (Col. USA ret.) of Green Beret fame.

Your pro-war friends must be aware that none of the jingo Talkers have ever served a day in uniform, yet all profess to be "experts" in foreign policy and national security affairs
