Michael Anthony Peroutka at First National Convention of Christian Party of America, April 21, 2012

Holding its first national convention, the Christian Party of America invited Michael Anthony Peroutka, co-founder of Institute on the Constitution, to be a guest speaker. The convention was held on April 20-21, 2012, in Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina. Michael presented ”Dangerous Make-Believe” on Saturday afternoon, and participated as one of the experts in the Constitutional Dialogue on Saturday evening.

“Dangerous Make-Believe” is Michael’s wake-up call to Americans who have assumed that the “complicated business of politics” operates the way it has to — looking to man to define government and establish justice. Truthfully, it is folly to attempt to base a civil government on anything but the Law of the Universe, which our founders referred to as the “Laws of Nature” and of “Nature’s God.” Michael also exposes the great lie known as “separation of Church and State,” and shows that the concept has been perverted and is currently misunderstood.

Chancellor Of Bob Jones University Praises The Work Of IOTC

On the morning of April 5, 2012, Dr. Bob Jones III, Bob Jones University Chancellor, addressed the audience in the university’s chapel program. You can hear his remarks here: Listen to: Bob Jones on IOTC.

Dr. Jones welcomed IOTC Director of Operations, Derek Howell, Pastor David Whitney and Director of Communications, John Lofton, to the BJU campus. He wished that the president of the nation knew about Institute on the Constitution, and suggested that all officeholders be required to take IOTC’s course on the U.S. Constitution. IOTC was invited to visit with BJU faculty and staff to continue to explore ways in which IOTC might work with BJU to glorify the Lord and spread His Kingdom.

Dr. Bob Jones III: We Must Ask God For The Courage To Lead Our Children Out Of Pharaoh’s Schools

At our April First Friday event, Dr. Bob Jones III, Chancellor of Bob Jones University, made a passionate plea for God “to give us the courage to lead our children out of Pharaoh’s schools,” the Godless, government-run, so-called “public” schools. In his talk titled “All Education Is Brainwashing; It’s Just A Matter Of What You Want Your Brain Washed With,” Dr. Jones warned of the dangers of a Godless education. He noted that many of our colleges and universities were founded as explicitly Christian educational institutions (such as Duke, Harvard, and the University of Georgia) and he lamented the decline of Biblical preaching from the pulpit. He emphasized that we must teach the next generation to know and praise God.

Dr. Jones was presented with IOTC’s Bobby Franklin Profile In Courage Award, given in recognition of the firm stand that he and his family have taken in defending the Christian faith. The late Bobby Franklin was a Georgia State Legislator and a close friend of those of us at IOTC. His was a lone voice in the Georgia House of Representatives, while he fought for the principles of liberty until his death last summer.
