I think it is fair to say that we are reeling from the effects of out-of-control, bloated government. But, what would a government that is “under control” look like? Asked another way, “What is the proper, legal purpose of government?”
As I listen to most of the Republican candidates promote what they call “limited, conservative” government, their view continues to include welfare and warfare and phony, fiat money. To be sure, they say we need less of it than we are fed by Obama, but they still plan to feed it to us, just in an amount that is smaller but, as yet, unspecified.
Sean and Frank, of WCBM AM680 Radio, asked Michael for his insight into these concepts on their Morning Show of February 14, 2012. Listen to the interview.
For almost ten years now, Delegate Don Dwyer has been valiantly fighting the desperate efforts of the sodomite lobby in Annapolis to redefine the God-given and God-ordained institution of marriage.
Since the mission of the Institute on the Constitution is to restore an American Constitutional Republic, we are grateful for the efforts of Delegate Don Dwyer and others as they stand against the anti-American sodomite agenda.
But just today, in reading Dwyer’s recent testimony before the House of Delegates, I suddenly realized something that had eluded me, but thankfully, it has not eluded Delegate Dwyer.
Here it is in a nutshell:

TESTIMONY OPPOSING SB241 AND HB438 TO LEGALIZE SAME SEX MARRIAGE IN MARYLAND
Friday, February 10, 2012
Dear Mr. Chairman and committee members,
I have been fighting since 2005 to keep marriage between a man and a woman in Maryland. In the early days the argument was all about rights, benefits, hospital access and other related topics. Today the battle is to redefine the word marriage to include same sex relationships.

We hear: “Anybody but Obama! — Anybody but Obama!” . . . The mantra continues relentlessly.
“We’ve got to nominate someone who can beat Obama,” say the conservative talking heads and pundits.
Almost gone is any sense of sanity. (Don’t they say that the definition if insanity is to do the same thing over and over and to expect a different result?)
Haven’t we done this same thing again and again? Here’s what I mean:

This week my youngest child, my son Timothy Michael Peroutka, celebrates his 21st birthday. My mind and my heart flood with wonderful memories of his birth and his childhood. Tim was a great athlete and a bright, curious and engaging young child.
But with my youngest child now fully an adult, I can’t help but want to make some apology to Tim and to his generation of young Americans, for the disgraceful government, economy and culture we are turning over to them. It seems we’ve squandered our birthright, and theirs. We’ve been complacent and cowardly and we’ve been corrupted.

Many thousands of very well-intended people will be marching in Washington this week to protest the 39th anniversary of the ruling of the Supreme Court known as Roe v. Wade. While I respect them immensely, I believe they may be marching in the wrong place.
It is generally taught and generally thought that this 1973 ruling made abortion “legal” in America. This is NOT TRUE. Let me repeat this. Abortion was not legalized by this or by any other decision of the Supreme Court or of any court. Abortion was murder prior to the case of Roe v. Wade and abortion is murder still.
Let me give you two simple reasons why this is so: Read More →
As you watch the presidential candidates debate and listen to the talking heads talk, are you struck by the surreal nature of it all?
For the Republicans this garish show seems to revolve around the sole question of replacing Obama. For example, after only two primaries had been conducted, all but one of the anchors on the Fox News Network were suggesting that Republicans now need to coalesce around Mitt Romney because he is the only one with the organization and the money to beat Obama.
And, to them, the one and only important thing is to beat Obama.

I want you to listen to the words of George Orwell:
We live in a time of universal deceit. Though we are deluged by information, much of the information that reaches us is distorted. It is false.
This is not an accident. Those in government, the media, in education and entertainment have vested interests in spreading lies and suppressing truth. And the most pernicious and effective enemies of the truth are the myths — we might call them the false pretenses — that, although clearly untrue and destructive, nevertheless appeal to the base nature of man. And because they do appeal to the fallen nature of man, we tend to believe them even though they are untrue. AND they thus become the basis for public opinion and public policy.
