Surreality of Republican Goals

Posted on January 17, 2012 by Michael Anthony Peroutka

As you watch the presidential candidates debate and listen to the talking heads talk, are you struck by the surreal nature of it all?

For the Republicans this garish show seems to revolve around the sole question of replacing Obama. For example, after only two primaries had been conducted, all but one of the anchors on the Fox News Network were suggesting that Republicans now need to coalesce around Mitt Romney because he is the only one with the organization and the money to beat Obama.

And, to them, the one and only important thing is to beat Obama.

The notable exception is Judge Napolitano who points out – correctly, I think – that Obama and Romney are – essentially – the same political person. So, the Judge asks, isn’t it a waste of time to replace Obama with Romney? You might as well keep Obama, since their political philosophies are essentially identical.

On the other hand, Judge Napolitano also points out, there IS a serious candidate that offers a strikingly different vision. Congressman Ron Paul, among other things, has consistently taken aim at one of the most serious impediments to our freedom and our future – The corrupt and incompetent Federal Reserve System.

Dr. Ron Paul is the only candidate with courage enough to expose the dirty deal between central government and central bankers that is responsible for the country’s economic and cultural ills. He has relentlessly and tirelessly fought against the systemic embezzling of the people’s productivity by this one hundred year old criminal scheme. For his trouble he is labeled by conservative commentators as marginal and unelectable.

Ladies and gentlemen, please consider: If your one and only goal is to replace Obama, you are very likely to replace Obama with Obama.

Now that is surreal.

@ Paige, “all” is right. (a principled write-in alternative will appear)
@ Mr. Peroutka. Ron Paul is pro-choice for States.

Thanks for the ‘Marching In The Wrong Place’ commentary, we need to prosecute serial baby killers, not rescuers.
    Happy Birthday Timothy!

Moreover, provide thou among all the people men of courage, fearing God, men dealing truly, hating covetousness: and appoint such over them to be rulers over thousands, rulers over hundreds, rulers over fifties, and rulers over tens. -Exodus 18:21

Briefly stated, "The American View" of government is that there is a God, the God of the Bible, our rights come from Him, and the purpose of civil government is to secure our rights.

There are many views of government, from equally numerous world views. Americans are blessed that our Founders' Biblical Worldview informed their political philosophy and the framing of our founding documents.
