Gov. Rick Perry Does Not Seem To Understand That Courts Do Not Make Law

Posted on November 16, 2011 by Michael Anthony Peroutka

This audio excerpt is from an interview of Texas Gov. Rick Perry by WHO radio talk show host Jan Mickelson (in Des Moines, Iowa).

Though Jan tries repeatedly to make the point that courts do not make law — so court rulings should not be obeyed as if they are law — Gov. Perry does not seem to understand this important issue.

  • What is this American View?

Briefly stated, "The American View" of government is that there is a God, the God of the Bible, our rights come from Him, and the purpose of civil government is to secure our rights.

There are many views of government, from equally numerous world views. Americans are blessed that our Founders' Biblical Worldview informed their political philosophy and the framing of our founding documents.
